The Stag Job Shadow Program (open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors) offers students a valuable opportunity to learn directly from accomplished alumni and parents. Participants gain insights into their hosts’ college experiences, career decisions, and the transition from college to the professional world.

To participate, alumni and students complete a brief registration form (see registration buttons above), which provides the information needed to create  matches based on industry interests and location. Every effort will be made to ensure a close match based on interests and goals.

Once the matching is complete, alumni, parents, and students will be notified, then students will reach out to their match to schedule a career conversation. These career conversations can take place in person or virtually in a variety of formats :

  • Office Visit: Matches host a student for a half-day or full-day at their workplace.
  • Lunch Meeting: Mentors meet a student for a career-focused conversation over lunch.
  • Virtual Session: Students and their match set up a video call for an industry information session.
Alumni, parents and students are strongly encouraged to participate in this rewarding program. Contact the University Career Center at careers@fairfield.edu if you would like more information.

 Student Feedback

"Job shadowing Allison, an alum who works in HR at a law firm, was such an inspiring experience. Hearing how she navigated life after college and built a career she loves gave me a clearer vision of what’s possible and made me genuinely excited for my own journey after graduation. It was encouraging to see how the path from school to a meaningful career can unfold in real life."
